Hammonton

The proclaimed “Blueberry Capital of the World” hosts The Red, White and Blueberry Festival annually on the last Sunday in June. The event features blueberry pie eating contests, rides, a car show and live music.

The town’s oldest tradition, The Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Italian Festival, is celebrated by residents and visitors from all over the state. The Kiwanis Halloween and Firemen’s Christmas Parades along Bellevue Avenue have also become a part of the community’s long list of events.

Hammonton Art District focuses on education through creation and has evolved into a mecca for cultural and artistic expression. The Eagle Theater, recently renovated and re-opened after 95 years, provides a performing arts pulse within the area. Hammonton Arts Center and Stockton College Noyes Museum offer classes, workshops and gallery spaces for viewing and interpreting fine art.

The area is also a preferred destination for shopping in local boutiques or indulging in local eateries.

Agricultural roots are engrained into the soil of Hammonton and are reflected in the local  farms and vineyards. The Hammonton Wine Festival showcases full bodied reds, citrusy whites and delectable dessert wines available by local vintners. Currently, there are three vineyards and wineries in Hammonton. The Tomasello Winery, Plagido’s Winery and DiMatteo Vineyards represent award-winning varietals and finishes that can last for generations.
